the map is astronomically real. every star position is from the hyg catalogue, every exoplanet from the nasa archive. nothing is decorative. spin the map and you can see the local arm of the galaxy, the cluster around cygnus, orion's belt as a straight line.

once your starship engages, the decision is over. you stay at the desk, work for the duration, and a session later you have crossed real distance. the session length is the commitment. the starship carries it for you.

the hall of fame exists so the people who do log long sessions can see each other. not so anyone feels bad for missing a day.
